One Breath Haiku reads for Second Sunday.
Tanya McDonald is known for her love of birds, bright colors, and books. Over a hundred of her haiku have
been published in various haiku journals, and she has co-edited several anthologies, including No Longer
Strangers, the Haiku Northwest 25th Anniversary Anthology. In 2014, she was one of four featured readers
at the 25th Annual Two Autumns Reading in San Francisco. She is the moon half of Seven Suns/ Seven
Moons, a quirky, haiku-esque collaboration with Michael Dylan Welch, which was published in 2016. An
active member of Haiku Northwest since 2008, she is currently the group's vice-president. Her haiku
workshop venues have included the Seattle Japanese Garden, an anime/manga convention, and a clothing
boutique. A native Oregonian, she currently resides near Seattle, Washington.
